Polymesh has been upgraded to v7.3!
We’re excited to share that Polymesh has been upgraded to v7.3, delivering key improvements in response to feedback from developers, institutions, and the broader Polymesh ecosystem.
This release focuses on enhancing the accessibility of POLYX and expanding settlement capabilities, while improving integration for developers and institutions. Polymesh SDK v28.0.0 and Polymesh SubQuery v19.3 are available to support this new functionality.
Read on for a sample of these changes and how they’ll expand the utility of Polymesh!
Relaxed identity requirements for POLYX
Polymesh v7.3 introduces new ease of use by relaxing identity requirements for POLYX transfers and staking.
The chain no longer enforces a Decentralized Identity (DID) or a valid customer due diligence (CDD) claim for these actions. This allows users to interact with POLYX using familiar blockchain patterns, without needing to complete identity verification for basic network participation.
Existing integrations that still perform DID or CDD checks will continue to function, but these checks are now optional and can be removed to align with the updated protocol behavior.
Importantly, identity requirements for asset-related transactions remain unchanged. A valid DID and CDD claim is still required when dealing with asset tokens, preserving Polymesh’s compliance-first, public permissioned model.
Instruction locking for advanced workflows
With Polymesh v7.3, settlement gains new functionality through instruction locking mechanisms that enable sophisticated offchain workflows.
It’s now possible for settlement instructions to be locked by a mediator before execution, while committing assets to the instruction until the mediator unlocks or executes the settlement.
This functionality enables conditional settlement based on offchain events, such as cross-chain operations, without requiring transfer to third parties or escrow smart contracts. Beneficial ownership of the assets remains with the original owner throughout, while guaranteeing that assets are reserved for settlement.
Complementing this, the STO (Security Token Offering) module now supports recording offchain investment receipts, enabling traditional capital raise activities to be reflected onchain.
Polymesh Portal enhancements
Alongside the v7.3 chain upgrade, the Polymesh Portal received key usability updates that further improve access to the chain’s functionality.
The Portal now features a ‘Get POLYX’ button that links users to Banxa for seamless direct-to-wallet purchasing. This flow eliminates friction for new users by enabling them to acquire POLYX tokens and store them in their Polymesh Wallet, without navigating transfers between multiple exchanges.
Additionally, the Portal introduces a comprehensive new Asset Manager page, which provides a “Create Asset Wizard” for a guided, step-by-step experience in creating feature-rich tokens on Polymesh. It also offers the “Asset Control Center”, a centralized place for issuers to intuitively manage existing assets for improved control over their token operations.
Miscellaneous improvements
In addition to the above spotlighted features, Polymesh v7.3 brings a wide variety of enhancements, code hygiene improvements, and quality updates.
