Greentrail will further strengthen Polymesh as the newest node operator

Investment firm Greentrail is the first node operator to join Polymesh since its Mainnet launch! The collaboration will play a crucial role in further strengthening and decentralizing the network.

Polymesh Association is proud to announce that investment firm Greentrail is the first node operator to join Polymesh since its Mainnet launch!

The collaboration with Greentrail Global I LLC (“Greentrail”) will play a crucial role in further strengthening and decentralizing the network. This benefits Polymesh users by reducing privacy and security risks associated with relying on a central intermediary, as well as improving the blockchain’s efficiency, reliability, and attack-resistance.

As a decentralized blockchain, Polymesh relies on third-party node operators to keep the blockchain secure and operational. Since Polymesh is designed specifically for regulated assets, the identity of authoring nodes matters. Only verified regulated financial entities may become node operators and write new blocks to the chain.

Polymesh node operators are incentivized through nominated proof-of-stake, whereby only a limited number of nodes may participate in the blockchain’s consensus mechanism to gain rewards per era. As a new node operator, Greentrail will increase competition between operator nodes, ultimately helping incentivize nodes to behave reliably.

“We at Greentrail look for exceptional world-class technologies leading a wave of disruption in large markets, and we are excited about Polymesh’s potential”, says Marco Guerreiro, Crypto COO at Greentrail. “With its infrastructure and industry connections, we believe Polymesh will become a valuable player in the securities market as more companies embrace tokenization.”

“One of the major benefits to Polymesh is its transparency, but providing this transparency with the level of security required by institutions wouldn’t be possible without verified node operators that participants can trust”, says Graeme Moore, Head of Tokenization at Polymesh. “We’re thrilled that Greentrail is the latest node operator working with us to fulfill this aim”.

There are currently 15 regulated entities operating nodes on Polymesh. Companies interested in becoming a node operator may get in touch with Polymesh here.
