Polymesh NFT Season is here!
Challenges will be rolled out in phases. Phase 1 kicked off the week of May 6, 2024, with a challenge that had users acquiring and swapping NFTs issued by the Polymesh Association.
Phase 2 kicked off the week of June 3, 2024, in collaboration with independent music platform TokenTraxx.
Both Challenges 1 and 2 are now over, with prizes being distributed to participants on June 27, 2024. A total of over 300+ Polymesh community members participated in both challenges, showcasing the growing interest in NFTs on Polymesh. You can see the distribution of POLYX to winners here: https://polymesh.subscan.io/extrinsic/13891991-1.
The success of Polymesh NFT Season is great news for the ecosystem as members get ready to issue mortgages, bonds, structured products, and other financial instruments on the blockchain.
As NFT Season continues, we’ll be updating this post with any necessary information. Bookmark this blog post to play!
The first challenge officially ended Thursday May 30th! This challenge involved exchanging NFTs from the first-ever Polymesh collection.
On May 7, 2024, the Polymesh Association sent 10 randomly selected NFTs to all Polymesh users with at least 10 POLYX (staked or unstaked), as per a snapshot at midnight on April 30, 2024.
Users then needed to figure out how to swap NFTs to compete for prizes. Many users participated, including those who did not receive any NFTs in the initial distribution!
Prizes were to be awarded based on the following criteria:
An onchain snapshot taken Thursday, May 30, 2024 determined the winners. If there were multiple winners of a prize, the prize pool was split equally among the winners. Prizes were distributed on Jun 27, 2024.
Note that these NFTs will not be affirmation-exempt assets, meaning users must affirm settlement instructions for the tokens to appear in their wallets.
The Polymesh NFT Collection has a total of 30,000 NFTs. Each token references one of 50 images created specifically for this campaign ranging from rare to common. See the table below for reference.
The image variant (the ID of the image the NFT references, from 1 to 50) is contained in the NFT metadata along with its image URI on IPFS, its rarity, and a bonus letter taken from the word ‘POLYMESH’ which is randomly assigned.
Tokens were distributed on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 over a number of hours. To ensure the game began fairly, tokens were locked and only became transferable on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 once distribution had been completed.
There were multiple games that involved collecting subsets of the Polymesh NFT Collection, for different prizes or prize pools.
Users could play as many games as they wanted to increase their chances of winning!
The aim of this game is to collect as many unique variants as possible from the 50 image variants in the Polymesh NFT Collection.
Since there are 50 image variants, the maximum score for this game (if a user had at least 1 of each variant) is 50. Users who collect all 50 variants by the contest deadline will win a prize.
The total prize pool for this game is 1,000 POLYX.
The aim of this game is to collect as many of a single image (i.e. a unique variant) as possible.
Since the most NFTs of any image variant is 700 (for images 21-50), the maximum number of NFTs needed to win this game is 700.
The total prize pool for this game is 1,000 POLYX.
The aim of this game is to collect as many NFTs as possible, ignoring their image number, rarity, or metadata.
While it’s possible for there to be a tie between two or more players, there may also emerge a single winner for most NFTs collected. You’ll have to play to find out!
The total prize pool for this game is 1,500 POLYX.
The aim of this game is to collect a set of NFTs containing all three variant types.
Specifically, you must collect 2 rare, 4 uncommon, and 6 common variants.
It’s highly likely there will be many winners.
The total prize pool for this game is 2,500 POLYX.
Each NFT has a randomly assigned bonus letter taken from the word ‘POLYMESH’ in its metadata.
For this game, you need to collect a set of NFTs with each of the letters to make POLYMESH.
For more of a challenge (and to increase your chance of winning bonus POLYX), collect a set of POLYMESH NFTs of the same rarity (or the same variant, which is even harder).
The total prize pool for this game is 2,500 POLYX.
Collect the most NFTs in the first week. Exact snapshot time was taken at block 13274182. The total prize pool for this game is 1,000 POLYX.
Challenge 2 occurred in collaboration with TokenTraxx as the independent music and art creator platform issued its first music NFTs on Polymesh.
TokenTraxx’s initiative kicked off with the creation of a free NFT collection by Evan Malamud, a singer-songwriter whose music fuses hip-hop, rock, pop, and country for a genre-blurry journey.
Users had to go through Polymesh onboarding to collect Evan’s NFTs.
In addition to benefits from holding the NFT, users who obtained the NFT were eligible for Challenge 2 of Polymesh NFT Season!
The first 250 claimers received 25 POLYX each. This challenge ended June 21, 2024, with prizes distributed on Jun 27, 2024. Note this prize was only per identity, not wallet.
